Old Stone Building*
by Denise

Along I-680 California

I took this for another challenge and forgot to enter it!!!!!!! I have no idea what purpose this building served. I decided not to crop out the old tire. I thought it added something to the image. But I am open to suggestions.

Per Franky2005's comment and me liking the result.........this is a new version. Original can be seen at http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/63442783

This sure looks old, alright and very interestinf textures in that old stone building. Interesting format for a "Keep Out" sign, too.

Oh, I love this image and I agree with Frank, the tire adds much interest to the shot! Wow that's old. Very nice capture of an interesting and unusual scene Denise.

Hey Frank, thanks for the heads up. I posted the wrong image!!!!! This is the one I wanted. Okay, I'm done. I like the color much more the the B&W but it was fun to see the difference. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Denise, IMHO the new crop is a little too much for me. My preference is to have a little more symmetry by having the same space between the left post to the edge and the right post to the edge. I could not resist to put a crop in the demo folder. Even worse, I tried b/w, but finally think that it would require more work to make it really appealing compared to the color version. I hope you do not mind, as I just remember that you do not like b/w too much. Anyway good to see that your finger is back to full (I really hope) function!

The tire just makes it so interesting to me. No way to crop it off. If ever a slight crop from the left and the top could help to draw the attention to the building more. Personally I would try b/w, but this would make it a complete different story.
