Eggs White*
by Deb Kees

This nest of eggs is "plastered" to the side of my house outside my second floor bedroom window. I THINK they are a variety of Mockingbird eggs. I have taken shots of the parents and other nest views and will post them to my galleries a little later. Opinions will be welcome. It absolutely amazed me how quickly the nest was built. The eggs have been there for a little over a week, I think.

Katherine, the eggs started hatching either this morning, or maybe sometime overnight. I am torn between leaving the "family" alone and trying to catch the unfolding scene. Thanks for trying to improve on this image. Unfortunately for me, I have to head off to work soon, and won't be able to try out your suggestions.---Deb

It's not really technically flawed, it just needs to be whiter for the theme. I fiddled with it in photoshop - if I can find it I'll put it in the demo folder. If you can select the eggs, feathering the selection about 5 pixels, then invert it and lighten and desaturate, it would be whiter.
I bet you'll get some more great shots when the eggs hatch!

I couldn't agree more, Katherine. Say, maybe I should put it in Exhibition as being technically flawed.---Deb

Great shot - I like the sharp focus on the eggs, with the nest slightly blurred! The image would conform to the theme better if the nest was lightened - I don't know of a good way to do it, tho.
