I was hanging off the Cable Car and taking photos. In 25 years of living here, I have only been on a Cable Car once!! Why? Because they scare me to death. Challenge 120 became a personal challenge for me to get some classic SF City views. In between the terror, I had a ball ;-))

Thanks, JP!!! Glad I could bring back some pleasant memories. I just know I got on this car at California and Powell. It was a "Spare The Air" day and all transportation was free. I rode the cars back and forth across the City looking for good photos and trying not to fall off. LOL See Transportation photo for where I was standing.

Correction - after long & careful & fascinated study of this delightful pic, I've concluded it must be the top of the Hyde street outbound line just before it turns onto Jackson St. My favorite ride at 5:30 with the fog swirling thickly & Alcatraz & Angel Island peeking in & out...

Denise, Thanks for the memory. I used to ride the Hyde Street cable car to & from work when I lived in SF. Later I had a house on Hyde street & listened to the dingding dingding from morn till nite. This looks like the Mason Street line. Great place! Great shot!
