I'll add that lowering the brightness of the background might keep the attention on the gull. I like the twinkling light shining on the branches.
Nice sharp shot, good capture, Patty. My own personal taste: I would cropout the brilliant top of the image. I find it distracting and IMO it adds nothing to the scene. Helen
