Wrinkles in Time
by Carmen

We have these beech trees in back of the house that seem to have a rather short life cycle.
They grow quickly, but are quite breakable and generally once they reach a certain height
it's only a matter of time before a wind comes along and knocks them down.

This is a shot of a piece of trunk that's been laying there for some time;
the insides have all rotted away and all that's left is this wrinkled bark.

Well seen, Carmen...nice color and texture to the bark. It's almost as if a metamorphosis has occured...and the skin remains. Nice photo. MFC

I get a very serene feeling from this image -- very nicely composed and captured. Helen

Carmen, this is a very unique take on the topic. I like the detail in the ribbons of bark left behind.---Deb

Cool composition - I love the unusual shape and texture of that wood! It looks like a giant pachyderm foot.
