Hi, Mike. That is the real color of the turtle. There may be experts out there who can shed light on this relationship but I believe the butterfly associated itself with the turtle because of its color/pattern similarity. Thanks for the comment.

Sonny, what an extraordinary find! Was the tortoise really coloured that strongly, or is it a stroke of genius on your part? Either way the effect is stunningly eye-catching, certainly plausible, and a perfect example of multiple associative elements in the one subject. - Mike
