8th Place [tie]
Rowing in a pool of light
by Moti

This is the Pool of St. Helena in the city of Ramla in Israel, also known as the Pool of Arches.
This place was originally built during the 8th century to serve as an underground water reservoir,
acquiring its water from external sources, such as winter run-off rains.
Today the reservoir is a tourist site where visitors are invited to learn about the ancient water collection system
as they row little boats between the arches.

Beautiful shot, Moti. I recognize this place as the one Nir Alon captured in his winning challenge photo a while back. Wish I had known about it when I was in Israel! Helen

Moti this and the others you and P took are fabulous. I love the rich mystical colors.

You are not wrong, It is the same place and we have been there together. I added some explanation in the caption. This is also the same place in Nir Alon's winning photo for the STF reflections challenge.
