Yes, Melanie, this is typical eucalypt recovery from a bushfire. The new growth starts to appear in just a few weeks. This one's probably either Red Stringybark (Eucalyptus macrorhyncha) or Messmate Stringybark (E. obliqua). The juvenile leaves make it a bit difficult to distinguish, but they're very tasty to possums as the missing bits attest! :-) -- Mike
