Okay you have all been very patient and dilligent in guessing this, so here is the answer: we have a large ceramic bowl that we use as a fountain in our dining room. It has a deep bluegreen kind of mottled shiny surface. This is a picture of me sitting on the floor looking up onto the outside surface of the bowl. The blue patterned area is an oriental rug. The brown area is the floor. :) Ann C.
