Is anybody out there?
by Carlos Chacon

A radiotelescope unit located in the mountains of Tarbaca, Costa Rica. I wonder if someday we will find some proof that, after all, there is somebody out there...

Thank you all for the comments, very appreciated. Wow! I wonder how hundreds of these look together... this is the *only one* on my country. I took this from the road that goes by the place, the security guy was adamant about my request to let me go down by the dish :) . This is located deep between the hills to shield the receptor of local radio and TV signals. Regards! Carlos Ch.

This looks very artificial. Without the text I wud imagine everything is studio made. I love the trees et al. So, did it take you a nanosecond to hover and take this view? =)

Love the abruptness of the dish in the otherwise beautiful natural scene. Good eye for that one. You may laugh but I live near a facility with over 2000 of these dishes all up on top of a mesa, with the express mission of detecting extraterrestrial signals. I would have shot it but of course it is off limits to those of us with no security clearances . . . yes I live in California. lol. Cindy

Cool shot, Carlos. The expanse of sky in the image, coupled with the dish pointing up is a nice combination for the theme of your image. Mark J
