High-key silhouette of a daffodil
by Willem

A yellow daffodil, back lit by a halogen lamp immediately behind the flower.
On purpose overexposed (10/13 s, F4) to create a high-key silhouette.
No editing done at all, only slightly cropped.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Comment by Willem : Just a tad overexposed ? Now that is an understatement. I overexposed it by +3.5 EV on purpose (10/13 s instead of 1/13 s), so it becomes a silhouette, if you take the definition "a subject lit from behind in such a way that details are lost and only contours are visible" and in that way complies with the challenge theme. The picture at 1/13 shows beautifull details but it is not a silhouette in any way.

Just a tad over exposed.

Very creative technique, Willem, and I like the subject, too. Think Spring! Bev
