"We arrive at Taillevent, on foot…The entrance to the restaurant is so understated that one could quite easily drive past, by day or night, without remarking it. Above the doorway at 15, rue Lamennais is a trim metal awning, painted forest green, with stenciled gold letters. No sooner do we appear...beneath the awning than the door glides silently open, like a protective wing of darkened glass."
