After the valve clearances were checked and adjusted, the camshaft was removed. I do not install a SOHC head with the camshaft in place.

Once the head in on the block, and after the headbolts have been torqued to specs; then I will reinstall the camshaft.

The good piece of aluminum that I went looking for, and found, is now a better piece of aluminum...and is ready to be installed.
