Dark-winged Fungus Gnat (Sciaridae)

Tiputini Forest Reserve, Prov. Orellana, Ecuador

Sciarids are typically only 1-2 mm in length; some Neotropical species reach 5 mm, such as this individual lapping up sprayed honey.
