With a backyard such as this at my disposal, one might think that
I have an endless supply of photographic subject matter. You would be
quite correct on that account, but there are times, when I just cannot
bear to photograph even one more flower or bee or plant leaf. It's been
done before and to excess in some cases.
The challenge I present to myself, is to photograph this material in a
way that is new and refreshing... with a composition or treatment that
doesn't make me think of the same old thing, or mimic every other floral
and insect photograph in my already bulging library of images.
Somedays I'm struck with inspiration and I grab the camera and rush outside,
near breathless with anticipation at what I might find or see or create with
my little camera lens. Other days, I'm not and I don't. ;)
