This banded hairstreak, Satyrium calanus was collected from the dorsal surface of a Chestnut Oak in the Blue Hills region, Milton MA, May 13th 2009. It is crawling across the male flowers of its hostplant - a bit of artistic license, but they are known to consume the flowers.
