June 12, 2004 - The Plague

Ann Arbor, Mich.

They know, they just know where to grow, how to dupe you, and how to camouflage themselves
among the perfectly respectable plants, they just know, and therefore, I've concluded weeds must
have brains.  ~Dianne Benson, Dirt, 1994

But make no mistake:  the weeds will win; nature bats last.  ~Robert M. Pyle

Crabgrass can grow on bowling balls in airless rooms, and there is no known way to kill it that does not involve nuclear weapons.  ~Dave Barry

I am in the midst of my annual war againt the clover (and the zillions of little flowers that accompany it) that has invaded my lawn. I am losing as my PAD shows.

My husband nurtures his clover-in the backyard-for the kids' Easter Egg hunt each year. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nice shot of the friendly little clover.
