Great Gray Owl

Northern Minnesota

Not a great picture, but an incredible bird. The Great Gray Owl stands about 3 feet high and has a 5 foot wingspan. They are not usually in northern Minnesota, but we have many here this winter that have moved out of Canada because of a food shortage. This intrusion is being called a "once in a lifetime" event for us.

Steve! How I envy you and Sally right now! I'd LOVE to see one of these magnificent creatures in the flesh! What a thrill that would be for Me.

I think your image is just fine, not perfect, but considering how difficult it is to photograph wildlife Ya just can't complain when you get a shot, ANY Shot! I think the image could use a bit of creative cropping though. Get rid of some of the extra branches that you simply don't need. But that's just ME, remember I don't know nuffin' about photography!

Thanks again for sharing,

Wanda
