Image 8 (Forest Lakes)

Forest Lakes, AZ

There is a small lake in the Forest Lakes community that has remained mostly empty for the past 3 years. Recent rains and snows, however, have increased the spring pressure substantially and now it finds itself overflowing. This shot was taken a day after one such snow and the typical warm weather of AZ is already melting the frozen lake.

With luck, the Mogollon Rim country will get another 3-4 feet of snow to help the Spring snow melt feed various rivers within the desert.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II ,Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM
This is a VERY wide angle shot using the 16-35 at 16 and stitching 2 images. full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Wow! Great image! I presume the stitch was one exposure for the sky & one for the foreground? I have similar equipment, just the slightly lesser 20D. As a beginner I would greatly appreciate it if you would PM me how you achieved this result?
Congrats,
Steve

Great shot Steven! Can't beleive this is a stitch. Sun's glare adds a unique feel to this image. - Karthik
