Daylight Lightning

Gilbert, AZ

This is my first attempt at daylight lightning using a basic shotgun approach. Using the Mk II's high speed, huge buffer and fast SD card interface to advantage, I simply started taking pictures. I was hoping for the closer super-cell to get a single big strike that never happened. Well it did happen, I was just too busy chimping to catch it:-)

I did get this two strike shot, however. A small cloud to cloud one near the middle and forked lightning shot in the distance to the right.

Nice capture. I've tried the "shotgun" approach before but gave up after about 150 or so shots; not because the memory card was full but more out of frustration that there just wasn'y anything happening for me to get a picture of.
