VDB-142 in Cepheus

Anza, CA

This is VDB-142 or commonly known as the Elephant Trunk Nebula, part of the emission nebula IC1396 in the constellation Cepheus. This is a pretty dim object. This is an H-alph filtered image taken with a QSI 516ws camera and a Vixen R200SS, 800mm f4 newtonian telescope with a Baader coma corrector. This is 195 minutes total exposure time or 3.25 hours. This is a combination of 11x5 min, 5x 10min and 6x 15 min sub exposures combine in CCDStack. And final contrast adjustment in photoshop.
