Antares and Rho Ophiuchi

Anza, CA

This is a shot of the Antares region. Antares is the big yellow star on the bottom, in the bottom right corner is M4, a globular cluster. In the middle on the right hand edge is Rho Ophiuchi a triple star, the darker streaks across the image are dark nebula, dark gas that is blocking the light from the stars behind it. This is 17 - 5 minute images at ISO800, raw files linear converted, dark frame subtracted and processed in ImagesPlus. Taken through a Borg 45mm ED with a Borg 0.85x reducer/flattener, giving a focal length of 252mm at f5.6.

other sizes: small medium large original auto
