the need for speed

I was practicing my panning on this scooterized kid today.
I was pleased to be able to freeze him while making the background show the motion
but I think something more is needed to make this speed photo more dramatic.
Any experienced panners out there want to give some advice?

This wasn't taken with the lens baby, which, by the way, I think I am going to sell if anyone is interested.

Canon EOS 20D
1/50s f/5.6 at 100.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very great shot! I've been working with stop motion too and find it quite a challenge! Why would you sell your lens baby?

Fantastic pan. For a more dramatic shot 1/30 sec but that easier said than done ;). Vote!

I think this is perfect and quite like it.
This was my effort on the same day (Robin pointed out we had similar designs)

Excellent work. The only other thing you could do I trim in into a new layer and add a bit of motion blur.

Super job-can't imagine what else you need--how'd you do this?
I'll bet the kid posts this on his wall.

You really did a nice job of panning. He is sharp as a tack.
