IN THE MOMENT

This is an unposed photo from Saturday which I just found now as
I was going through all the photos from that day. I am quite pleased with this one
and would be interested to hear comments from others about what works and what
doesn't work here. Do you like the choice of a duotone or would you have preferred
a color version?

Sometimes when I like a photo I come to find out that others do not and so I am
just curious with this one. Honestly, all comments are welcome.

Those large hands cradling the child are wonderful. The duotones work really well.

Very tender image!

Fell asleep last night before I could respond.

I do like the b/w rather than color-the affection is the story (and so heartwarming).
The child's eyes seem a little bright (might be the laptop monitor, tho) and the crop might be a little off balance with one elbow cut off and the other with some b/g showing.

But the love shown here is way beyond critical nit picks :) Could be one of your best, ever.

I guess I wasn't thinking b&w or color. Just the emotion evident in this image. It is just perfect in every way, Liza. I keep going back to it.

I really like this in b&w. I like its mood. I think the color would take away from feel of the picture.

My reaction is the individual photo of the baby required color because of his remarkable blue eyes. This one is about the relationship, and it does seem the b&w lets the eye take in the whole scene w/o being over-taken by color or just on focal point. Works for me, and I'm not usually a big b&w guy.

I'm all for the black and white here. It's interesting, I went over to a friend's place on Saturday to take some pictures and wound up with a somwhat similar shot:http://www.pbase.com/nanook1496/image/39486898. It's always the candid, unplanned shots that turn out the best!

Warm shot, I prefer color
