Dunluce Castle

County Antrim

I found today that my favourite castle, Dunnottar,
has an Irish country cousin!!
This is Dunluce Castle which has Scottish
ancestral connections and an equally attractive location..

Great shot - there is a family resemblance but I bet it doesn't sit on such a splendid conglomerate!

From what I understand the castle was built in 1300, and most of what you see today was built in the 1500's. What an achievement! Wonderful shot!

Are you getting in all those miles on the bikes?
Very nice shot of this castle which lost its kitchen in a storm.

Tis only a short stretch of sea that separates the two countries. There seem indeed to be many similarities.

It's certainly a pretty spot... bet that wasn't uppermost in their minds when they built it though :o)

East Anglia will be long lost to the waves when this ones falls. Great shot with the Gorse bush in the forground.

The dexterity of those who built these places never ceases to amaze and they were really built to last...it still holds a tenacious grip on that point. Super shot
