I noticed thistles are popping up everywhere in my garden after recent storms. The pattern on this leaf, made by some bug,caught my eye; part of nature I guess. I am glad it hadn't attacked something more precious.

Great macro, the tracks of those leaf miners look like roads on a map! Love seeing the details on and in this thistle leaf.

Nicely seen and photographed. There are many leaf-mining insects, often specific to a particular plant, and even the patterns can vary depending on the insect making them. Nature's artists, I always think. Don't know the species who would have made this, but many leaf-mining insects are still to be studied.
