Wanda Bathing In The Garden of Eden 07_01_06.jpg

This image theme is something I have had kicking around in my head for some time. Anyway, this really isn't the Garden of Eden but a neighbors trout pond ... and the trout in it are huge. Wanda was terrified to be in the pond. The footing was poor and there was a deep drop off. Yes the model was sort of willing to take the photos but couldn't move past the fish bumping her legs. Let's just say it was a short shoot.

Can you see the terror in her face swimming across the pond?

This would be a perfect rendition of Bathing in the Garden of Eden but for the earrings and the hair barret. Overall, it is wonderful as one would relate to today. Michaelangelo, watch out!

This is a wonderful image Bill, and having read Wanda's report of the photoshoot, it is quite amazing that it turned out so well. The things you put that poor girl through!!

Gotta say, don't go any deeper those darn trout bite really well on pink and reddish tipped bates ... I mean baits.
Guest 03-Jul-2006 22:51
I know this must have been tough, but great idea. I'm not sure if my wife would have wading into that! Wanda is a great sport!

Superbly composed, great lighting, and very tasteful (not to mention, excellent model). Excellent work. If only the trout knew how lucky they were to have Wanda gracing their pond.

Great lighting. One of the best images (of Wanda) so far this year. Location is superb too. A real Eden's Pond!

Very well done! Great lighting and color on a great model! -BJ

Greetings Isleman!

Long time no hear from. (hands on hips) If I was as brave as you think I am, I'd go back and try it again so Bill could get the shot he was envisioning. He hates it when he gets an image in his head and then can't quite put it on canvas, film, smartcard, (you choose whatever term suits you)(grin)

Hope all is well with you and yours. (warm smile)

Hi Wanda, you brave soul! This is an incredibly sensuous and youthful shot. The color, lighting, clarity, and DOF all combine to create a great work of art. Kudos to you both. You are a woman who continually amazes me!
Kenneth Zimmerman02-Jul-2006 17:06
I love the motion of the water falling off of her.
Great shot!
John Buffin02-Jul-2006 16:53
Amazing shot! I hope you took one wide shot from further back. I think it might make a great fine art nude print. Slim chance you'll get Wanda back in that pond again. =)

Wow! I'm back in the Middle East again and never miss a day at keeping up with the Bates PAD.... Wanda what a trooper.... Bill the shot has great composition! Wanda, well what can I say as alway such a beautiful model. I wishing to see those beautiful BLUE eyes. The colors captured are just out of this world, not only did you have the right lighting angle on Wanda but you also managed to set up a great speed shot in which you capture the motion of her arm splashing herself while still not letting the shot reveal too much... great shot. Its really interesting to see Wanda's face which makes these pictures, that more realistic. It's outstanding to see her reflection in the pond which really brings out those creative shots once again from this wonderful team. Thanks Wanda and Bill for sharing these outstanding photographs with the PBase family. Keep us in your prayers...

she looks somewhat terrified just standing there! Can't say as I blame her . . . .used to live next toa similar pond and found it intimidating to try to swim there . . . . those fish were better than watch dogsto keep people out!
kej02-Jul-2006 14:49
Love the colors. Think any faster iso would have darkened it too much. As always, Wanda proved her goddessness over and over!
Guest 02-Jul-2006 14:25
Excellent capture,Wanda is beautiful as always
Guest 02-Jul-2006 14:21
Fantastic photo for all the reasons already given. I especially like the lighting and the bit of movement too.
Guest 02-Jul-2006 13:58
Excellent shot, looks like Eve
John Storjohann 02-Jul-2006 13:19
Very nice image....did you take any of the trout *grin*. Hey..I'm an avid fisherman...I had to ask. Your friend has his own private trout pond?

Keep chasing the light.

Gary Blanchette02-Jul-2006 12:24
I've got one thing to say to the two of you....... SEND ME A POSTER! (Hey it doesn't hurt to ask.) :-)
Steve Patterson02-Jul-2006 12:18
Lovely, and very sensual. The lighting is fantastic, and of course, so are you, Wanda. This is really one of your very best, Bill. A sensational image.
John Lester02-Jul-2006 12:05
Ditto, great shot, great model.
We have sting rays and sharks in the water here so I know how she feels. I remember pond swiming as a youngster with the "little" fish nibbling at me so the big trout must be much more fun. Good job Bill, thanks for your courage Wanda.
David T.02-Jul-2006 12:03
All I've got to say is, it must be nice having a model that is not only attractive BUT is willing to "step up" for creativity and art.
An excellent capture! Thanks for sharing.

The best I've seen of her yet and there are so many that are superb.
Jv 02-Jul-2006 11:16
Great composition! Not only did you have the right lighting angle on Wanda (high lightening her in the brush) but you also managed to set up a great speed shot in which you capture the motion of her arm splashing herself while still not letting the shot reveal too much... great shot. BTW I too think the look on Wanda's face makes the picture, much more realistic and not having that paradise composition look. It's good to see the creative shots once again from you two.
Dave Callahan Photography02-Jul-2006 10:56
First,a beautiful image. And she does look nervous.Bill you must be quite a salesman because I could never talk Linda into that water. So Wanda you are not alone in feeling afraid in those conditions. But,it is a really cool shot,Thank you both again.
Guest 02-Jul-2006 10:51
Well it seems all over the place are Piranhas and Jaws and crocodiles as i see her face. But it COULD be a wowow romantic view when it was really paradise and she was less afraid :-) cant you comfort her a bit more? boys !
Jvan Photography02-Jul-2006 06:25
poor Wanda...fish freak me out I would have been screeming! This is a beautiful photo!
Jim McKinlock02-Jul-2006 05:58
Certainly looks like the Garden of Eden, but comes across more like an episode of "lost" or some Sci-Fi thriller. What's out there? Incredible image.
Unexplained Bacon02-Jul-2006 04:56
You got a great-looking photo out of your efforts though!
Wm. Bates02-Jul-2006 04:48
Short shoot?!!! It felt like an eternity to ME and I couldn't wait to get out of the water! (still cringing) I still can't believe the things you talk Me into doing just so you can take a damned picture! . . . Opps, I mean, just so you can "create an image" (grin)

Wanda
Robin Reid02-Jul-2006 04:47
Actually the look of apprehension on her face makes the image. Well done.
