Wanda Scared 07_01_06.jpg

This is what Wanda looks like when she is scared of what lurks beneath her in the water. She really had to force herself to do this photo session for me. She was genuinely afraid to be swimming with the large rainbow trout that inhabit this pond.

How could he better that?
I'm sure some of the weird 'guests' might have some ideas, but I don't think it could be bettered

It's not like Me to be "afraid" of critters of any kind. I finally figured out what had Me freaked and nervous about this particular situation (besides the fact that I was nekkid adn nervous about someone catching Me that way). It was the bottom of the pond that had Me on edge. It wasn't like a rocky river bottom or gradual sloping beach with firm sand to walk on. When I first stepped into the water the muddy bottom was nothing more than a layer or thick muck and I began to sink down into the unknown mire of yuck! Those first few steps were awful because it was hard to balance and I wasn't sure how far I would sink! And the suction was just awful! When I tried to take My next steps I was afraid My shoe was going to be pulled right off My foot! So I gave up on walking and just swam out into the now murky waters. At first the water was clear and I could see what was lurking around Me, but as I pulled My legs free from the muck and began swimming it stirred up all this awful silt from the bottom.

I didn't like not being able to see what was out there! And then there was the task of trying to find a spot to actually stand up and have as much of My body out of the water as Bill wanted. There was no gentle sloping place for Me to pick the right depth. No shoreline to speak of. Just a drop off into the muck! I had to precariously balance Myself on what little spot I could find to plan My feet.

This was probably THE WORST time I have ever had posing for Bill. I was nervous, freaked out and scared the whole time. I couldn't keep My body from shaking and I had been startled twice by the fish because I couldn't see them coming.

Bill never did get "the shot" he wanted, but I don't think I am going to pose again in this pond anytime soon. He'll have to find a braver model or find a location where I can had solid footing and see through the water!

I can certainly understand your apprehension, well maybe I can't but my wife can. The first time I took her to Hawaii we went to Hanauma Bay to do some snorkling, we made it in to the water up to our knee's before she started screaming "there's fish in here"
"um, yes honey, that's why we're here"
"but they brushed up against my leg"
"yes, and when we get all the way in and start feeding them there will be even more fish"
That was as far as we made it, now we just enjoy fish thru a pane of glass, or on our plate fully cooked. :-(

I guess your love of animals must be just for the ones above water?
