Today Wanda and I went snowshoeing. We hiked way up one of the ridges high above Joe's Valley. The forecast for the day was wind and snow. As we unpacked our gear it was just beginning to spit a little snow. We both zipped the liners into our coats, put on our gloves and headed up the gentle slope.
We hadn't gone 100 yards when the sun broke through the clouds. The sun came out and began to reflect off the trackless snow. We hadn't gone far when coats came off, then gloves. I could feel my face beginning to burn a little as we continued into the steeper part of the narrowing canyon.
I rested and snapped a few pictures and continued to climb while Wanda hiked to the top of the little ridge to the west. I continued up the bottom as she skirted the side of the ridge.
It was near the top of the climb when I shot this photo. The clouds were beginning to thicken but still it was warm and sunny. It stayed perfect on our climb back down to the car far below.
The clouds finally closed in, the wind kicked up and it began to snow as we loaded the gear into the car. Yes it was a perfect day.
