A Good Day 11_10_05.jpg

I spent a perfect fall afternoon in the mountains hunting grouse with Wanda, Brandy, Jeff and my dog Pepper. The dog work was good. We only moved one bird but that is ok. Pepper is getting old and after an hour of hunting in a steep and rough area she was pretty done. I'm sure she will be a stiff puppy tomorrow.

John,

My little 16 gauge was built by SIACI a couple of years ago. The store I worked for bought the entire inventory of the import at a bankruptcy auction. I had the job of unpacking and assembling the guns for display. This little jewel never made it to the showroom floor.

I haven't had the 16, which is built on 20 ga frame, on a scale but would put the weight very near 6 lbs. It has light 27 and 1/2 inch barrels. The balance is perfect and it swings very well. The stock dimensions are just what I would order if having a bespoke best gun made for myself.

It really is an ideal gun for rough shooting light and quick. I feel the 16 gauge is very underrated and under valued by hunters. To know the 16 is to love it.

Nicely figured walnut stock. Guessing it's got a bit of age about it being a hammer gun? Having said that you say it's new? Don't see so many 16 bore's over here (uk) though personally own a 12 and 20! Good hunting..

I like the clarity, color and composition. The end of a good day, great title.

Life is to short to drink cheap whisky or to shoot an ugly gun. This new little Italian 16 gauge, side by side, hammer gun is a dream in the grouse coverts. It is light, well balanced and swings just so darn well. A few scratches on its nicely oiled stock will only add character to the gun as it ages with proper use.

Beutiful outdoor still life, that shotgun looks way too nice to use in the brush.

I was talking about the action shot of brandy, but that little guy with his kill would have been neat to get.

You heard about the ermine. I was taking this photo when Wanda and Brandy spotted the little guy with a rodent in his mouth. He was in his winter color. Light was very low I'm not sure I could have gotten a photo of the fast little guy even at 3200 ISO.

Sweet shot, however I heard you missed the good shot, right out the car door hehe
