Tonight I wanted to create something soft, warm and cozy; So, I tried something a little different with the flash. I metered the lamp and set the flash to that exposure. I'm sure that is beginner stuff but I'm still learning. Anyway, it worked well.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
1/25s f/2.8 at 78.0mm iso400 with Flash full exif

I didn't have to work too hard for this image. The most difficult part was finding a comfortable pose that looked all cuddly and cozy and still allowed for My sweater to cover things up.

I realize this is a late comment on this image, but I find myself going back to this picture more and more. I love the lighting in this image, and Wanda has never looked sexier. (I think Im a sucker for bare shoulders) Bill, you did an outstanding job behind the camera and capturing the light so perfectly. This REALLY works for me!

You are right Lou, the reflection on her knee and along the edges of the chair from the flash need to be taken down just a little.

I love how you've nailed the exposure with the technique used in this one, Bill. It's perfect and Wanda is, of course, as lovely as ever.

You've got some great indoor elements and settings to work with, to set the mood/feel of the overall composition. Bravo, again!

Excellent mood in this one, Bill. The flash is not present on the picture or allmost. You should hide the bright lightspot reflecting on the front edge of the knee.
This picture looks like a paint of old medieval painters. This kind of light mood was often used in their portrait works. Good experience and wonderfull shot anyway.
