This was just a little experiment with the cheap sheer drape. It came out sort of how I wanted but the nylon material isn't working that well. It has wrinkles that just won't iron out and the weave causes a little moire pattern. I guess I need to try a sheer cotton.

I have to admit that even though I am a bit uncomfortable when I do these "artistic" nudes, I do enjoy the end result that leaves your imagination working. (grin)

Alternative approach for future use may be a mirror shot with dulling spray on the glass to simulate steam and retain the curls that Wanda expressed concern over.
Full back nude (waist up), curled cascading hair while she appears to be checking self in "mirror". Dulling spray to keep the image just this side of PG13. Perhaps the appearence of a hand wipe(s) of the "steam" on glass to allow for facial reflection. Draping towel wrapped around waist color and contrast to other textures.
I have seen dulling spray used for a commercial glass door "shower" shot.
No need to hurry prior to the steam evaporating...

This reminds me more of a heavenly, rather than alien, abduction scene. It's a beautiful, enigmatic photograph.

I have my own, more base example athttp://www.pbase.com/davewyman/image/11639439 - only I used dirt tossed up into a shaft of light.

Ditto on the shower scene, depending upon how sheer you want the fabric to be, try stretching it on a frame, you could always double up on it if it is too sheer.

All I can say is WOW! I think this is my new favorite PAD of Wanda.

This image is why I love PAD projects. It was the need for an idea and to try something new. The process was ... I wonder what would happen if we did this??? First we tried Wanda with the drape tight around her with the flash coming down from the top. The affect looked good but the black background showed and looked bad. So then we just tried hanging the drape with Wanda behind it. Those didn't look good you needed the tube to reflect the light to get the right look. So we then tried a tub about four feet around. That worked well. It gave the foggy/smoky look I wanted. We tried different apertures and decide that very open which gave very little depth of field looked best. You want the drape material blurry. Without this PAD project we would have never created this image.

Yep jude, I AM trying to escape. . . from this PAD project! (laffin) Help, help, how did I get Myself into this? (counting the days until it is over). . I agree, it does kind of look like a steamy shower.Too bad My hair doesn't really stay dried and curled while in the shower. (grin)

This is one of those images when I think “Wow! I wish I had taken that!” To me, it’s a supremely erotic and “smoky” image. Bill – first hand experience for the ironing, … place the sheer between two damp sheets or damp towels and then iron it with a steaming iron. That will take the wrinkles out. As for the “moiré” pattern, … the only place I really notice it, (and even then probably wouldn’t have if you hadn’t mentioned it), is a tiny little bit in the skin tone on her left forearm (on our right) and slightly in the skin tone on her right breast; (on our left). Taking the camera SLIGHTLY out of focus will solve that and should preserve the “crisp” overall image. Of course, moving the light back from almost directly overhead will too, but that will ruin the beautiful effect you were working on. Think I’m gonna try this one! Just beautiful!
