Today we hiked Bell's and Little Wild Horse Canyons with our nephew Wes. It was a perfect day if you don't mind hiking when the temperature is in the low 90's. Thunder showers were forecast for the afternoon so we planned our hike to be done by 2:00PM. As we left the area a massive thunder cell was building to the west. These slot canyons are a place you don't want to be with thunder showers in the area.
This is Wanda really being just herself. She climbed up on this ledge about 20 feet above the canyon bottom to be, as Austin Powers would say, a tiger http://www.pbase.com/image/33669808 This is more of a resting mountain lion. The wall behind me was in the sun and reflected very nice light back at Wanda. This one is straight out of the camera with Unsharpen Mask filter at 200/.3/1 and just resized for the web. It was shot raw and converted in C1LE with saturation at +5%.
