Wanda09_09_04.jpg

Wanda and I spent the morning in a brand new park that runs along the river in a nearby canyon. I think, when the County is done with construction this will be a very nice park. There is one down side to the park. I love to fish this section of river because it is seldom visited or fished. Now they have cleared out the willows and other brush and the river will be much easier for people to fish.

Well it is now - I think we’ll have to put Ticky-oonie in the list with Incy-wincy.
Using the Previous/Next buttons to scroll through I couldn’t see what you were getting at but once I’d looked at the thumbnail I know what you mean. The thumbnail does you no favours and pre-conditions you for when you look at the main picture – which actually isn’t as bad as you make out. [IMHO]

I always liked the colors in this image. This was a tough one though, because we were shooting earlier in the afternoon than we normally like to. I didn't like where the shadows from the flowers were cast on My shirt. My chest is too lit up in My opion. It looks as if I have one GIANT boob in the thumbnail, when really, both My boobs are showing, you just can't see where one ends and the other begins. (laffin) When I noticed all these little "picky details" I realized I had been hanging out with Bill and Wesley too often! As photographers, they have a tendancy to look at every ticky-oonie (is that a word?) aspect of an image, rather than just enjoying an image for what it is.

But why does it have to end....love it..js

That separation is one of the things I like about the lens used. The "bokeh" or background blur is butter smooth. Wanda is just on the river's edge. She was about 20 yards from the other side of the river and maybe 200 yards from the colored trees behind her. At f/4 the depth of field was around two feet: so, the background just drops to a nice blur.

The seperation between Wanda and the background is amazing.

The DOF in this image is awesome! Wanda and flowers really stand out.

The Canon 70-200f/2.8L is one sweet lens and I really like the Image Stabilization. Of course this could just as easily have been taken with a 135f/2L or the nice 70-200f/4L and still looked as good. Both are much less expensive and they weight less. But, I would really miss the IS.
