Wanda09_07_04.jpg

Tonight was a good night. We took 12 photos and could have used almost anyone of them. That was a good thing. This pose was a real work out for poor Wanda.

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
1/100s f/8.0 at 46.0mm iso200 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

What I recall from this session was how My arms began to ache from the strain of lifting My weight in that position. I thought the image turned out pretty good though. Didn't quite make it to My list of "favorites", but close.

Another awsome image, congrats go to you both. I really like how the light almost exactly bisects her and how the area in the light stays the same thickness from the torso down.

Richard, lighting for this was pretty simple. We had one flash on a stand slightly behind Wanda about at a 45 degree angle from her feet. It was bounced off a 60" umbrella that was angled down toward her. Slightly behind and about 3 feet from her head I had another flash bounced of a 45" umbrella. Both umbrellas were angled to wards the camera. The trick was to keep the light from spilling onto the black background. I bounced off the umbrellas because I wanted a pretty sharp cutoff of the shadows. If I had shot through the umbrellas the shadows would be a little softer and the light would have wrapped around more. Also it would have caused more spill onto the background. The flash lighting her hair and face was down about 1/2 stops from the flash lighting her body.

Bill
Apparently I'm like everyone else today - I'm really impressed by your lighting. Can you tell us how you did it?
Thanks,
Richard

Drop a huge bucket of water on her next time for the "Flashdance" effect!
