Here was the setup for today's July 30 photo http://www.pbase.com/image/31989613

I used two Canon 550EX and one 420EX speedlights. The 420EX has a small long box on it which makes a good snoot. Background is just a cheap black sheet from Walmart.

I use little Bogen umbrella flash mounts.

I don't have nay soft boxes; so, what you see is pretty much what I use in my little basement studio.

Nah, I just wear the silly hat. I find park rangers give me a little slack and give me information they might not share with the general public when I'm wearing the hat.

William....thank you for sharing your studio with us. I've been thinking about getting Alien Bee strobes, but I read on another forum, where someone sold their Alien Bees, and purchased Nikon Speedlights for portability (a very similiar setup as yours). He mostly did outside senior portraits (something Im interested in). Anyway, I like your setup very much. I have a 420ex already, and thought about taking the plunge and getting a 550ex.

I actually bought the same king size black sheet at Walmarts. $13.98 I think.
It works perfectly and I save money (to blow on other things there...lol)
