OK, this was a total experiment and my first try at "High Key Lighting Photography". I really can't decide if I like it or if I even came close. Oh well at least we tried.

Very pretty shot Wanda and Bill

I have always loved this image. Probably because it really doesn't look like ME to Me. I like the relaxed expression on My face, I actually look comfortable in front of the camera for a change!

Wonderful! I WOULD think she's in her earlier 30s. :)
Wm. Bates08-Jul-2004 04:29
Elizabeth, I would love to try...just let me know when.
Guest 08-Jul-2004 04:09
Wanda! I love this one. I think this shot is my new favorite, although Bill keeps adding such great ones that my favorite is constantly changing. Gorgeous!! Hey Bill, can you make me look this good?
Guest 07-Jul-2004 13:59
Yep, this is a good one!! I love the framing... hmmm, new ideas for SP Friday! :)
Very pretty Wanda! I'll see you guys in a few days!

I love this image. The softness contrasted with the detail in the hair is really nice, and Wanda's expression is perfect. Beautiful picture. Beautiful model. One of your best, Wanda (and Bill). I have become another addict of this site. Thanks.

Karen, I don't like the copyright notice much myself. It probably doesn't make much difference when it comes to image theft by those determined to use images without permission. then again, if it helps and reminds a few then maybe it is worth it.

superb! lovely composition, great detail where it should be, and love the surrounding softness. the signature on the bottom left takes away.. just a personal nit-pick. I would love to see this without such prominent text. Beautiful work!

stunning work!

Bill and Wanda . . . absolutely DE(high key)LIGHTFUL!!!!! Your daily efforts are most appreciated and add to my day. Thank you for sharing!
Lou Giroud06-Jul-2004 11:23
The result i just excellent, looks smooth and soft in colour. The contrast and light is a question of appreciation anyway.
Concerning the photographer and material relation, I don't agree. A good photographer cannot make a good photo with crappy material. A crappy material will not get better, a bad photographer on his side can. One never stops learning and studying photography and techniques, is starting by getting a honnest material to work with. This is elementary and easy understandable.

Hi Bill and Wanda,
Like I said in my email...its 90% photographer and 10% equipment that
makes a good image. You exceed yourself each day I see a new post and
with a model like Wanda it makes it all the more easy for you.

Great shot Bill and Wanda. Great shot.!

Dawn06-Jul-2004 05:11
mmmm hmm.. I'd say you got it too.. lol.. Wanda seems to approve too.. hehe. ;D Nice work!
Wm. Bates06-Jul-2004 05:11
Eric, I did a quick B&W conversion with a little burn through to keep the blue eyes just for fun. what do you thinkhttp://www.pbase.com/image/30996840
Guest 06-Jul-2004 04:52
Fantastic shot Bill and Wanda. I really do like the high key effect and actually used something similar for my PAD today. Tried converting it to B&W yet? Bet it would look fantastic that way too, though the color is awesome.
Wanda 06-Jul-2004 04:50
I LOVED this experiment! It only took two minutes to shoot the photo (instead of two hours....grumble, grumble) and Bill only took 4 shots! As it turned it, he ended up using the first image he snapped! Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and encouragement. Without all of you this project wouldn't be near as much fun!

Very nice. Worthwhile experiment.
Reminds me of Paul Walters work.
Willa Dios06-Jul-2004 04:27
I think, as usual, she looks positively gorgeous and this lighting works very well here, Bill.
jude06-Jul-2004 04:20
I love this one.. so soft... and Wanda has a beautiful natural sensual look on her face.. nice
Guest 06-Jul-2004 03:48
Bill you know what I really enjoy about the idea of PAD, is the fact that we get the opportunity to see photographers improve their skills. When I saw this photo, the first thing that popped out of my head was how much you have improved. You have done a wonderful job here, it doesn't hurt that you're wife seems so natural at posing, and keep up the wonderful work.
Jude Marion06-Jul-2004 03:46
Um, bill ... ?
I think ya got it, hon! This is fabulous!

Guest 06-Jul-2004 03:35
