Today's photo you could almost call a self portrait. The concept with the rim lighting and the pose with the silk scarf were completely Wanda's idea. I just set the lights to do what she wanted and I clicked the shutter. I think she came up with an excellent idea.

Tomorrows photo will be my concept...it won't be posted until very late...maybe in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Wanda I love this picture. I know what you about finding something to wear. I've only been posing for Ray about 2 months now and I am already running out of ideas of what to wear. Once a monthe we go out buy a new outfit. Lucky me:)

I came up with the idea for this shot when I was rumaging through My drawers for something to wear. You just don't know what pressure it is on a female to be seen in the same outfit twice! (laffin) When we started this project I knew that would be a problem because I simply don't have 365 different outfits. When I came across this scarf it hit Me that it was plenty long enough to cover all My "bits and pieces" if I placed it strategically. I spent a little bit of time in front of My bedroom mirror coming up with the pose and then I showed the pose to Bill and asked him to set up the lights. My goal was to somehow achieve a "modest" expression and overall feel to the image while wearing what some viewers might consider a bit "brazen". All things considered, I think I did "OK"

All the comments are from men, but I feel this is a woman's photograph. I really like this one; the expression, the lines, the tones. Perhaps Wanda should starts pads of you

Funny,the pose here is almost similar to the one yesterday in the rain only the conditions differ to say the least. But anyhow, congratulations with your special project with Wanda because the result is very, very good. I can feel and see the creative interaction between you and her but although it must be very rewarding it still is a prject of long breath. So keep going on the second half of this year and we have something to look forward to every day.

James the setup was two Canon 550EX speedlites on stands with umbrellas. They were set both sides and slightly behind Wanda. the light facing her front was about 1 1/2 stops below the light on her back. The backdrop was a black king size sheet from Wal-Mart ($13.49. In photoshop I used the black dropper on the curves and selected the lightest spot on the sheet to drop everything to black.

Yes, great lighting. What was your background/backdrop? Did you photoshop it out or was there a drop cloth of some kind?
