I had the area all to myself while I tried to photograph some wolves on a fresh kill. Some guy drives his VW van right up to where I'm setup. I'm not sure what a ranger would think about him driving out through the sage. Now wolves have been spooked off just as I'm getting enough light to photograph. He ask "what you photographing?"
I say "that wolf pack running up the ridge." Thinking what a jerk he was for ruining an hour of stocking and setup in the cold and dark.
Next thing he does is get on the walkie talkie and in 15 minutes the hill behind me looks like this as I'm packing my gear. If these people had had as much brains as spotting scopes they wouldn't be skylined. They might not drive around in packs. And maybe a little camo would help. We'll enough on the US Yellowstone wolf watcher version of Anoraks.
