Hot Action

Hearth at Home

Well, this photo does not show emotion directly (i.e.: on faces or in human expression), but I personally have always felt that fire is an emotional thing. Personally, fireplaces remind me of some of my younger days around the campfire as a boy scout.

The idea for this particular image came to me on New Year's Eve, while having a relaxing evening (one of very few in 2004) with my family. This in itself was also an emotional high.

As it works out ... I'm still learning. The actual visualization that made me think of capturing the fireplace with my sd-10 wound up being a fleeting moment, and as usual, I procrastinated and lost it. It wound up taking about 3 hours to restoke the fire and wait for it to burn to get what I felt was an acceptably interesting image. At any rate, I hope you like this shot.
