Monkey Bread

Several days a week we watch our grandson after school. He is 5 years old, and I decided that maybe he would like to learn to cook, so once a week I pick a recipe that I think he might enjoy fixing and we surprise Mommy and Daddy and little sister when they come home.

The first week was a Shepherd's Pie... it looked like mashed potatoes but had a surprise underneath!

This week we made Monkey Bread. He had fun opening the refrigerated biscuits that made a loud pop when opened. It made us laugh really hard. He cut them in half, dipped them in cinnamon sugar and filled the pan. He's learning to measure ingredients and likes to sample as he goes. We are also working on telling time.

I think the expression on his face tells it all as he shows off his culinary creation!

Our first cooking endeavor was holiday cookies: http://www.pbase.com/shutterpug/chef_lucas_and_lala_bake_cookies

A celebrity chef in the making. You are teaching him things and creating memories that will last his life time. And making great images.
