St Peter's Church, Heysham, Lancashire

Overlooking Morecambe Bay
The first record of St Peter's is in 1080, but it is likely that the church is considerably older. There is evidence to suggest that the first church was built in the 7th century and reconstructed in the mid C10.

You didn't have any trouble getting a good solid scenic here. The only thing that would make this better is the sky or perhaps a soggy & foggy day for mood. G'Day mate.

Great shot! In this country, we tend to forget there ever was a 7th century, or 10th for that matter. That's a wonderful old church!
