Wow! the combination of reflected light really picking out bird details and back light lighting up those feathers really makes this special. Set against a central sum to boot. Magic. I've never made my camera go that fast before.

Icarus is a good metaphor for this image, Jenene. Kal speaks of the promise of a new day by incongruously suspending a gull before the blazing sun. The powerful juxtaposition of these natural elements makes the boats in the background seem trivial.

Beautiful... For the fast shooter speed along with the smal aperture. I assume it was a very, very bright day... Interesthing photo... Darkness at heavy sunlight.
