Your tilt angle and carrying stick all suggest balance to me... well, in this case, unbalance... His life seems slipping away from him, and sadly he is still unaware of that, or maybe there is nothing he can do to stop....

I love your recent "hat" series Kal... It is a wonderful abstraction, and you told many unforgettable stories of it..

Excellent capture. Love the use of the wide angle lens. It's interesting to see this man with "old fashioned" accessories (basket, etc.) sitting in a more modern/urban setting.

This photo is for me the image of Mexico :-)
Siesta, you know...

Rest is the only cure for life out of balance.

Yes your tilt angle seemed to stress his sleep mode, his weight, his burden, and the slanting pole/stick also fitted in. The rest of the day for his body, his mind, his goods, his customers and even the shop behind him. Do not disturb.

The rest is silence.

What to say after Rod's comment? I would simply add that what caught my attention is the care with which he/she had attached the fruits/vegetables at the end of the stick and the (at least apparent) cleanliness of his/her basket and its content. I was also thinking that his hat reminds me of the Mexican sombrero; these two cultures are so different, yet they have something in common.

Love the hat, that protects him during his sleep.
Very well caught, Love the slant. As if we were dreaming with him.

We tumble through the walls of our days. With no escape but, to bear our spear of burden forward .Or collapse for one breath, and cradle a moment of stolen reprieve. With a mind as weary market scales , weighing a grudge.
