Spit from the cultural womb.Like a cherry stone popped from its unripe flesh. Those parting steel lips plastered by a generation of peculiar heros.Murmuring their own mantras until we are almost them.Mutating to survive through this new infection of tomorrow.

Another fantastic capture Kal. The great melting pot happening right in our eyes...

Excellent capture. As if the boy steps into a new world, not at all at ease.

What a great capture.

Not much I can add to these excellent comments, Kal. Another remarkable comment on changing cultural values and their implications on society -- in this case, the future. You use not only the incongruity of the mature vs the immature facial expressions here but also the physical black gap in the door. I would image that the image gains even more meaning if the word on the posters are able to be understood.

so ironic and so bitter....

One foot in and one out, his back turned away from the Western icon but he is not exactly looking directly towards the East --- so this Chinese youth, right at the cusp, must find his own way to the future.

Wow, a real child among icons...

You punctuate the wor(l)ds of culture emphatically and with sublime power. It is if there is a confusion of voices among a planet of ears and eyes. And you step into the foray with one look.As a maestro's hand to conduct bittersweet rhythm from cacophony. You shake our senses awake.Incredible intelligent personable photograhic style.I bow to you,Kal :)

Wonderful juxtaposition of worlds, of images of the world. I love the expression of the child. A powerful image.

Sublime - caught between those cultural icons, with one foot on the platform and the other foot on the train.
