Yes, light and darkness define these shapes, but it is the mood of the piece that intrigues me. There is such a story here that I am reminded of Film Noir. This is so well composed, Kal. There are a good number of elements but they all work together to tell the story. Magnificent job!

Ana, you are the first to comment on the other person, and as you know I like details. That other person was intended to create a disconnection from reality. A man at a bar, whose only contact with human kind is an apparition of a man, who does not seem to even, notice him? Being alone and sad is what it was about for me as Marisa pointed out. The geometric squares separated by thick black walls represented barriers between worlds. Those drinks now seem tempting, as the medicine to soothe the melancholy.

This one looks like it was taken at a movie set... The dim lights of the bar match the young man's expression really well. Though we see two men in the image they seem to be living in different dimensions, so no wonder this brings to our mind imediately a very sad and melancholic feeling about the image.
I like it a lot Kal.

Excellent, moody, melancholy, a metaphor of unvoluntary loneliness
