51st Signal Battalion



Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Provides worldwide, crisis response, rapidly
deployable, force-projection communications support
to the XVIII Airborne Corps during war and in support
of operations other than war.

On a shield shaped embroidered item with a semi-circular
base edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) orange border divided
diagonally from upper left to lower right, orange over blue,
two conjoined diagonal bands blue over orange from upper left
to lower right surmounted by a yellow lightning flash on a
diagonal from upper right to lower left; 2/14 inches (5.72cm)
in height by 1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width overall. The beret
flash was originally approved for the 426th Signal Battalion
on 24 Jun 1992. It was redesignated for the
51st Signal Battalion on 14 May 1993.

On an oval shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm)
orange border, divided diagonally from upper left to lower right,
orange over blue, two conjoined diagonal bands blue over orange
from upper left to lower right surmounted by a yellow lightning
flash on a diagonal from upper right to lower left; 1 3/8 inches
(3.49cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in width overall.
The background trimming was originally approved for the 426th
Signal Battalion on 24 Jun 1992. It was redesignated for the
51st Signal Battalion on 14 May 1993
