| Francis and Maho Bay, St. John (June 4 and 5, 2009). It was a short passage from Leinster Bay via Narrows between St.John and Great Thatch Island. We entered the Francis Bay through the passage between Mary Point and Whistling Cay. We stopped on a buoy in Maho Bay for the night and enjoyed a magnificent sunset with lights of St.Thomas as a backdrop. Next day David landed us on a beach in Maho Bay and showed a path up hill to the Maho Bay Eco Resort, now renamed to "Concordia Eco-Resort". As we were approaching the beach, a pelican provided us with a magnificent fish hunting visuals. The beast flew around us several times and collected several picks in a display of precise flying and dives. Around noon we departed and set course for St.Thomas. |
