Christmas at Varkala

I decided to return to Varkala in Kerala for Christmas 2010, as I had very fond memories of it from five years ago. I'm enjoying it just as much this time around.Unfortunately for the locals, the season has been quite poor this year - which means the place isn't as crowded as I thought it may be, and there's plenty of room on the beach.
I've got myself a nice room for a tenner, and can see the sea through the palm trees when I'm swinging in my hammock on the balcony. I might not have fairy lights on a Christmas tree, but the sea is alive with the twinkling lights on the small fishing boats. It's like there's a magical land out there. Bliss!
