This was in the corridor outside my room, and I saw a rat run from it when I arrived. Later, I saw the rat inmy room, peering over the top of thewardrobe, though he scooted when I spoke to him.

In the night, I was woken up by little cold paws on my arm, and a wet nose on my mouth. I sat up from my sleep and flung him off me, then turned the light on and saw him belt across the room, up the cupboard and out through his hole.

Fortunately I like rats, and I was surprised to find that I wasn't freaked out at all by my midnight visitor. Better a rat than one of the slimey men that are in these parts.
